E-world 2014: New partners in the IT4Energy-innovation-network

At the E-world energy & water in Essen, Atos and Phoenix Contact joined the IT4Energy-innovation-network. The aim of the network is, to jointly develop sustainable solutions for the energy transition and especially to inform third parties about the chances and challenges in implementing IT in the energy sector.

Answers to the questions pertaining to the energy transition can only be jointly be given by the energy providers, grid operators, municipal utilities, real estate industry, IT-Service providers, legislative authority, associations, science and the end user. Therefore the competence-center IT4Energy of the Fraunhofer FOKUS founded the IT4Energy-innovation-network in September 2013.

At the E-world in Essen, Atos, an international IT-Service provider as well as Phoenix Contact, a worldwide market leader for components, systems and solutions in the field of electrical engineering, electronics and automation, joined the innovation-network. Currently the network has 10 partners, that will support the energy transition with sustainable IT-Solutions.

The partners of the network can in the IT4Energy Lab, develop test scenarios, integrate and present their solutions in a pre-competitive and neutral environment. Furthermore they can actively participate in workshops dealing with various application and technology based themes.
