Fraunhofer FOKUS presents its solutions for Smart Cities at the Asia-Pacific Weeks

News from June 05, 2013

Smart Cities is this year’s theme of the 9th Asia-Pacific Weeks in Berlin, which is associated closely with the research direction of Fraunhofer FOKUS. Our researchers are participating on June 5 and 6 on the business and technology conference "Smart Solutions for Urban Challenges". In addition, the Institute is glad to welcome two expert tours and show some use cases of its Smart Cities solutions.

With the focus on "Smart Cities" the 9th Asia-Pacific Weeks pick up the central questions of the rapidly growing metropolises and support the development of common answers for an intelligently designed future: How do the cities relate water and energy and how can they be used as efficiently as possible? How can cities improve their quality of life while reducing environmental impact? How can urban processes be controlled in an intelligent and resource conserving way?

The researchers at Fraunhofer FOKUS participate in the discussion and take part on June 5 and 6 June on the business and technology conference "Smart Solutions for Urban Challenges" in part as a speaker:

  • June 5, 11:30-1:00 am: Green City Forum: Presentation by Dr. Thomas Luckenbach, Director of the Competence Centre IT4Energy on "Smart Demand Side Integration @ Home"
  • June 6, 3:00-6:00 pm: Robert Kleinfeld, research associate and project manager in the Competence Center FAME (Future Applications and Media), statements in the workshop "Smart and Creative Cities - Chances for international cooperation"

In addition, the Institute is glad to welcome two expert tours and show some Use Cases of his Smart Cities solutions.
