Kurt Tutschku

Kurt Tutschku is a professor for telecommunication systems at the Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH) since March 2013. Prior to BTH, Kurt was holding the Chair of Future Communication at the University of Vienna (endowed by A1 Telekom Austria). Between Feb. and Aug. 2008, he worked in the Network Virtualization Lab of NICT in Tokyo, Japan. Kurt’s research interests include the architecture of future generation networks, network virtualization, and the modelling and performance evaluation of future network control. Kurt is leading multiple funded academic and industrial collaborations. He and his team contribute(d) directly to various Future Internet testbed projects such as XIFI (EU; Kurt is PI of BTH’s XIFI node), GENI (US), Akari (Japan), or G-Lab (Germany). Furthermore, Kurt is active with the ETSI Industry Specification Group (ISG) on Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) where he is member of the scientific board of the ETSI ISG on NFV.
