Senior Researcher
Business Unit NGNI
Tel.: +49 30 3463-7151

She graduated at the “Politehnica" University of Bucharest in September 2008 with a Diploma Thesis on the subject of DoS mitigation and traffic monitoring tools in SIP-based NGN network, which later became SIPWatch. During the 5-year study at The Faculty of Automatic Control and Computers she followed the Computer Engineering program based on compilers design, operating system design and computer networks.

While working at SILCOR between 2006 and 2007 she has gathered experience in the digital signatures and validation domain. The first contact with VoIP was in 2007 when she started working as a SIP server developer at Voice System. These were the premises of her research at FOKUS Fraunhofer Institut.

During her diploma thesis study she has developed a prototype for SIP-based NGN networks monitoring tool, which later became SIPWatch. Currently is working in a European project regarding Emergency Services in VoIP (PEACE). She is investigating an implementing an architecture to support detection of emergency calls, routing them to the nearest Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) and callback session, based on specifications from 3GPP (IMS related) and IETF. There are many real-life use cases to align with, e.g: the user roaming, the user detects or not there is an Emergency call demand, the UE has/or not enough credentials to register, the PSAP is an IP or PSTN station, the UE is aware or not of its location. For more details on the project and some hands-on about emergency services in IMS please visit the homepage of the Emergency Open IMS Core Branch.
